I love discovering old family photographs as I research. When I first started my genealogy journey, I didn’t have a single picture of my ancestors. I could barely remember what my paternal grandparents looked like, and I never knew my mom’s family. It’s so exciting to find old photographs, and I enjoy nothing more than sharing photos with clients they hadn’t seen before.

(Side note: I have a project to digitize and preserve family pictures, so if you have unwanted or unidentified photographs, please don’t throw them out. If you wold like to donate them, contact me. Alternatively, you could reach out to your local historical society. I am especially interested in photographs taken before the 1940s.)
